Portland Timbers Had an Impressive Debut

First their fans, the Timbers Army, sang the National Anthem on their own which was pretty cool.

Then their mascot, Timber Joey, is a real badass lumberjack. Every time the Timbers score, Timber Joey cuts a wood chip off a huge log slab from his massive chainsaw. The wood chips get passed around the stands and are eventually given to the goal score.

Who said soccer wouldn't catch on in the States? Obviously all those Portland hippies would embrace it.
