Melo's Debut Intro Vid

In case you haven't heard, Carmelo Anthony was traded to the Knicks. Melo made his debut with the Knicks last night. Here's the intro video that preceded the game. Nice touch adding Skyler Grey's (My guess in the next big thing in music) hook in Puffy's song, "I'm Coming Home."

Time to crank up that New York Hype Machine, Knicks Fans!

By the way, doesn't Chauncey Billups look like Derek Harper from the 1990's Knicks. 1990's NBA FTMFW!

Stat and Melo Stat and Melo Stat and Melo Stat and Melo

You've heard Black and Yellow by Wiz Khalifa. You may have heard the Green and Yellow Remix by Lil Wayne before the Super Bowl. I'm sure there are 100 more remixes out there. But here's the latest one for the Knicks dedicated to their one-two punch of Amar'e and Melo.

Bieber Booed at Knicks Game

Bonus points for Knicks fans booing him. Another +1 for playing the most generic arena song out there, Zombie Nation. Finally, feel bad for the Biebs? He's can use those stacks of hundreds to wipe away his tears. Here's hoping him and Charlie Sheen get together on his 18th birthday.

Gilbert Traded, Left Bittersweet

Gilby was finally traded to Orlando for Rashard Lewis. It's bittersweet because at one time, he was a top 10 player in the league that and averaged around 29 points a game. But now with a bum knee, he lost his explosion and quickness and flavor with the Wiz and both needed a fresh start. Good bye Gilby. It was 8 great, controversial, tumultuous years. We will always have these moments.

John Wall Dougies Through Intros

Last night I went to the Wizards home opener against the Sixers. Some quick thoughts. The Wizards can't play defense. They have talent but are extremely young. They have their franchise PG. I got the chance to watch John Wall live and he provided a glimpse of the future. Final line, 29 points, 13 assists, 9 steals, 8 turnovers. He has the ability to have that extra gear to blow by people and can finish at the rim. Once he develops that jump shot a little more, he might be un-guardable. He also knows when to make the fundamental play and kick it out to a right teammate. A team can be built around him and he has the talent to make players better. Best part, he's only 19. I'm also realistic and can see this team win 35 games. That would be an improvement. And with every game he plays, he'll get better and hopefully cut down on turnovers, which is tough because he always has the ball. At least the Wizards are somewhat watchable again.

Here he is from the starting lineup intros from last night.

From the Awkward Videos Department...

I present to you, Three Star NBA athletes, Andre Igoudala, Josh Smith and Russell Westbrook, get hammered with questions from some pompous British douchebag about taxes. Of course this was from the totally unbiased Fox News.

More Dancing with Wall, Cousins and Gallon

Yesterday most of the NBA rookies took their NBA rookie shoot. I guess photo shoots can take long so they all had to entertain themselves. Here rookies Tiny Gallon, Demarcus "Boogie" Collins and John Wall get down to "Teach Me How to Dougie" to pass the time. Look at Demarcus' moves. Big man can get down. Guess that's why he was picked so high.

Lebron in Cleveland

Here's Cleveland's pitch to Lebron. Oh man this will be so cruel when Lebron plays for another eastern rival next year. No way he stays in Cleveland, right?

Two Words: John Wall

Well, the Wizards finally had some good karma come their way. Finally, for the 2nd time in their history, they won the NBA Draft Lottery. Yeah yeah I know, Kwame Brown was a bust. But that year, there wasn't really a consensus #1. This year, Wall and then Turner and then the rest. The Wizards were a joke and an embarrassment this year. Started out with promise with "the Big 3" all healthy. After a few impressive early wins, they went on a slide followed by the death of Abe, the infamous game of bourre that led to Gilby and Crittenton drawing guns on each other, suspending them both, Gilby with jail time and eventually dismantling the squad. Caron gone. Jamison gone. Deshawn/Haywood/McGuire gone. No more straw chewing. No more awkward layups. No more hand-waving in front of face.

But alas, finally some good karma. The whole point of conducting a team is to win a championship, not a first round series. And they blew it up. Today with the draft lottery win, it's a start. Now assuming new owner Ted Leonsis isn't an idiot (he's not because he patiently built the Caps from the beginning and removed these joke of what they call banners), Ted will have Ernie take John Wall. A PG for the next 5 years at least.

Now if Miss Cleo is correct, your new starting five will be Wall, Arenas, Lebron, Blatche, McGee. But of course psychics are f'ing dumb.

So Wall, Arenas, Josh Howard, Blatche, Mcgee, with Nick Young and others off the bench. The team was completely gutted, but Wall is definitely a start. We're still a long long long way away until they are even close to competing (Come home Kevin Durant!) but at least there's some sort of hope at the end of this dark tunnel.

Great things happen in 3's. DC's last 3 #1 overall picks: Ovechkin, Strasburg and now Wall. Let's hope the last two are just as awesome as Ovie.

Now get your John Wall dance on.

Your daily Charles Barkley Update

So I've been behind today. I overslept my alarm like usual because I stayed up to watch the Thunder nearly upset the Lakers, so I'm catching up on real work.

So during halftime, Charles was asked a particular question.

He staggers before calling everyone an asshole. Pretty funny. You have to love Charles Barkley for his brutal, straight forward honesty. Like why he was ran through a stop sign:

According to the officer who wrote the report, "He told me that he ran the stop sign because he was in a hurry to pick up the girl I saw get in the passenger seat."

The officer continues: "He asked me to admit that she was 'hot.' He asked me, 'You want the truth?' When I told him I did he said, 'I was gonna drive around the corner and get a blow job. He then explained that she had given him a 'blow job' one week earlier and said it was the best one he had ever had in his life."

I hope he runs for governor of Alabama. He' s honest and I mean, could there be worse? (See Schwarzenegger, Arnold, Ventura, Jesse, and Blagoveich, Rod to mention a few)

NBA Playoffs Mean More Charles Barkley

Spring time is here and sportswise, it's pretty much the best time of year. Baseball starts (then you can careless until September), March Madness, the NFL Draft and the NHL and NBA playoffs start. One thing I love about the NBA playoffs is the NBA on TNT with the best studio crew in all sports, the TNT crew with Ernie, Kenny and Sir Charles. They seem like they genuinely like each other and pretty much bust Charles' balls with jokes and photoshops. Last night, they gave Charles a shakeweight to work with. He looks confused what the hell this thing does.

Bonus clip here of the TNT guys taking a page from Ron Burgandy's leather bound books:
